History

Colleen Paige, a dog enthusiast, family and pet expert, and animal champion, launched National Dog Day in the US in 2004. 2013 saw its adoption into law in the state of New York. She choose August 26 since it was on this day, when she was just eleven years old, that she adopted her first dog. What a wonderful way to show your dog some love with a recognised holiday!
