Gandhi Jayanti is observed on October 2nd of each year. On this day, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the nation's father, was born. His birthday is observed on this day, which has also been designated a national holiday. Because of his continuous efforts to liberate India from the British Raj after the Satyagraha, he is referred to as the father of the nation.

He dedicated his life to the cause of achieving the nation's independence and was a wonderful freedom warrior with a lovely heart. He has guided the nation to freedom through the Satyagraha way (non-violence), and he firmly believes in both truth and non-violence. Thus, October 2nd is observed as International Non-Violence Day throughout the world. He had devoted his entire life to serving the people of the nation, and as a result of his modest demeanour and altruistic actions, he was known as the “Father of the Nation.”
