National Solidarity Day
In 1962, India and China engaged in war. The 1962 Indo-China War was known as such. The war began on October 20, 1962, and it was fought over the Kashmir border issue. The war lasted one month before coming to an end on November 21st, 1962. India was defeated by China in that conflict, and many of its men were kidnapped. India finally allowed China to occupy some of Kashmir, which became known as COK, or China Occupied Kashmir. There is a formal agreement stating that China owns COK and that India will not participate in it. This is a summary of the war. India was ruled by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1966. The 20th of October was designated as "National Solidarity Day" by the committee that elected Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in order to remember the soldiers who took part in the fight and the families of those soldiers who gave their lives in the conflict. After that, a day set aside each year to honour the armed forces is known as National Solidarity Day.
Solidarity: What is it?
Solidarity is listed as one of the fundamental tenets of international relations in the Millennium Declaration. In order to establish a sense of togetherness across cultures, solidarity is the recognition of shared interests. The UN aspires to use collaboration and solidarity to free people from sickness, hunger, and poverty. An alternative definition of solidarity is a bond of agreement or cohesion among individuals who are battling or pursuing a shared foe.
History
A committee was established in 1966, when Indira Gandhi served as prime minister of India. The 20th of October was declared "National Solidarity Day" by this committee, which also included Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, in recognition of the soldiers who participated in the war and the families of those soldiers who died in the line of duty. 2022's National Solidarity Day will honour the China-India war of 1962. India was vanquished by China in this conflict. In this conflict, which had terrible repercussions for both India and China, especially India, many of the nation's soldiers were also martyred.
Significance
Not all countries may commemorate National Solidarity Day for the same reasons. Some countries will celebrate their key political decisions and political accomplishments. National Solidarity Day may be observed by some nations to commemorate both their military victories and the troops' sacrifices made during a particular conflict. India observed the day to promote its military. This day recognises combat valour, the surviving loved ones of the deceased, and the military, naval, and air force personnel who serve in the defensive armed forces. We have the opportunity to appreciate and honour the soldiers who protect and defend our country on this National Solidarity Day.
