A committee was established in 1966, when Indira Gandhi served as prime minister of India. The 20th of October was declared "National Solidarity Day" by this committee, which also included Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, in recognition of the soldiers who participated in the war and the families of those soldiers who died in the line of duty. 2022's National Solidarity Day will honour the China-India war of 1962. India was vanquished by China in this conflict. In this conflict, which had terrible repercussions for both India and China, especially India, many of the nation's soldiers were also martyred.
