You can be sure that many of our top choices are also suitable for small spaces if you live in an apartment. Go ahead and start brainstorming; all of the ideas below are fairly simple to master, at least with a little perseverance.

1. Remain outside

While there is no set colour palette for Christmas, red and green usually work well to evoke the spirit of the season. Your place will be the most festive on the block whether you use these shades inside and outside the entire house. We think that the large red bows really bring this look together, so if you want to recreate it, start there.

2. Go Too Far

Speaking of bows, check out this gorgeous tree that is entirely covered in vibrant ribbons. Don't worry if you don't have enough ornaments to cover your tree. Alternatives exist. Just remember to add some twinkling lights to make them shine.

3. Assemble the Table

Don't hold back if you're hosting the Christmas feast this year. After all, a table decked out in red, berries, and holly works for only one day of the year.

4. Utilise Metallics for Play

Although the red and green colour scheme of Christmas is well-known for a variety of reasons, there is merit to choosing a metallic theme. Tones can be changed to increase sophistication without taking away from the holiday's whimsical and joyous atmosphere.

5. Make Festive Shapes in the Oven

Make Santa very proud of what you give him. Instead of traditional sugar cookies, try something a little fancier, like Tieghan Gerard's iced vanilla bean cookies from Half Baked Harvest. Check out the recipe here: You'll be surprised at how simple it is to prepare these treats.

6. Adorn Your Garland

Garlands are already very festive, but if you want to make it even more festive, add some lights, pinecones, and ornaments to the branches and let them sparkle.

7. Start a Fire

Nothing is cosier on Christmas Eve than a crackling fire, so if you want to create a cosy and inviting atmosphere, arrange some firewood in front of the fireplace and leave it burning almost the entire evening. Just watch out that you get it outside before Santa sleighs down the chimney.

8. Personalise the Aroma

We won't hold it against you if this year you decide not to bake any cookies for Santa. Just make sure that the sweet aroma that permeates your house is both delectable and upbeat.

9. Set aside poinsettias

Poinsettias are in season from Thanksgiving to New Years, so if you want to add a pop of colour that feels appropriate for the holiday, you can't go wrong with these vibrant red flowers. Of course, any flowers work for Christmas.

10. Allow Snow to Fall

To enjoy a white Christmas, you don't have to reside in a cold climate. All you have to do is throw some fake snow wherever you could use a little holiday cheer.

11. Adorn the Dessert Station

Decorate the dessert station to give guests even more reason to love it if you're hosting a large Christmas feast this season! In order to match the wreath ribbon, Rachel Barrett scattered a few ornaments and woven some branches around her platters. We also adore the way she stacked the cake stands to create visual interest by varying their heights!

12. Put Some Tassels on

Elizabeth Pash adorned the tree with tiny stockings and tassels. Consider hanging doorknob tassels with relevant themes to spread joy throughout the home. Festive tassels on your desk, dresser, or doors can add a stylish yet affordable finishing touch.
