Honouring Freedom, Inspiring Future - India's 79th Independence Day Theme
This year, India’s Independence day theme is set with a motive to bridge the gap between India’s historical struggle for independence with a strong focus on future driven aspirations. The objectives is to remember the bravery, sacrifices and ideals of freedom fighters while urging the citizens, especially they youth to envision and build a forward looking and inclusive India.
Honouring Freedom, Inspiring the Future was announced as a theme by Ministry of Defence in collaboration with MyGov. This theme serves as both a tribute to the past and a clarion call for the future. It promotes unity amongst the citizens of India who have a shared past of struggle and sacrifices to play a part in shaping the India of tomorrow.
Honouring Freedom:
Honouring Freedom is remembering the sacrifices, paying tribute to the countless freedom fighters – From Bhagat Singh to Rani Lakshmi Bai, From Mahatma Gandhi to Subhash Chandra Bose – who dedicated their lives to liberating India from British colonial rule. This theme urges citizens to reflect upon the country’s journey from much before 1947 to appreciate the values of courage, resilience and unity that are a foundation of free and democratic India. The theme reminds every India of the importance of hard-won freedom.
Inspiring the Future:
This theme of Honouring Freedom and Inspiring the future is a call to the young Indians for action. It encourages them to be active participants in nation-building emphasizing their role as ‘Architects of India’s bright future’. The theme is in alignment with the vision of a Viksit Bharat by the year 2047 i.e. India to become a completely developed slot deposit pulsa nation by the 100th year if Independence. This year, Prime Minister Modi has launched various campaigns to involve citizens in the celebration of the Independence Day. Apart from the celebration on Ref Fort, Independence Day is celebrated with great zeal and fervour across India. There are reports of Nationwide competitions in paintings, essays and speeches on topics like ‘Mission LiFE’ (Lifestyle for Environment) and ‘Rise of Aatmanirbhar Innovation in National Security.’ Flag hoisting ceremonies and cultural events will take place across the country on the 15th August.
